The Kingston Reads 2009 Website is now online! Check back soon for the poll opening and vote on our favourite title!

Kingston Reads is a campaign to promote reading Canadian books. Following in the footsteps of the CBC’s very successful Canada Reads campaign, we approached 10 local luminaries to champion the books nominated by the Ontario Library Association for the  Evergreen Award. Each champion will submit their pitch for their book, and we will post it on the library’s website (www.kfpl.ca). On Friday, September 25th, the champions will have the opportunity to promote their books live at the Battle of the Books, as part of Kingston WritersFest (visit www.kingstonwritersfest.ca). At the end of the Battle, each champion will cast their vote, and the voting will then open for the public. From September 24th to October 24th, people can vote either online, at the Library’s website (www.kfpl.ca), or in person at Indigo Books & Music (259 Princess Street); any branch of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library; Kingston Literacy’s main site (859 Princess Street); or Chapters Bookstore (2376 Princess Street). The winner will be announced after Ontario Library Week, on Friday, October 30th.
